The family that owns and operates two mobile home parks in Cotati and Petaluma is threatening to close them down following the Cotati city council’s decision on Tuesday to put additional restrictions in place to protect residents. According to the Press Democrat, Nick Ubaldi, made the announcement during the public comment portion of the meeting, stating they have decided to immediately begin the closure process for Country Side Mobile Home Park. He said they have been subsidizing low income rents in the 55 and over park and can no longer afford to do that. Several other parks in Sonoma county have also indicated that if recent rent increases do not stand, they will close as well.
