The public is being advised to stay away from the sea lion visiting Petaluma.
The young sea lion recently appeared in the Turning Basin near downtown Petaluma. The Floathouse Petaluma is asking people to stay at least 30 feet away. Last week, wildlife officials tried to capture the animal, which some people have said appears to be sick. But, officials with the Marine Mammal Center say it appears to be in good enough shape to swim and seems healthy.
Experts have decided to leave it alone for now.
