Iconic Sonoma Historic Sites Sold Amid Bankruptcy Proceedings

Two of Sonoma’s most beloved landmarks, the Seven Branches Venue and Inn and The General’s Daughter, have been sold for $3.2 million.

According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the purchase by San Francisco-based Tidewater Capital follows the high-profile bankruptcy and liquidation of assets owned by embattled mogul Ken Mattson.

Proceeds from the sale will primarily go toward paying off bank loans and compensating creditors affected by Mattson’s alleged financial schemes. Importantly for local families, the new owners have committed to honoring all existing wedding and event contracts booked for 2026. Management says they are working to ensure a smooth transition with no interruptions to service at the historic West Spain Street properties.

The deal is expected to be finalized within the month, pending any formal court objections.
