Santa Rosa Appoints Interim City Manager And New City Attorney

Santa Rosa has tapped longtime administrator Jason Nutt to step in as interim city manager starting June 27th, following the sudden departure of Lori Ann Farrell.

The Press Democrat reports the City Council unanimously backed Nutt, a former public works director, to guide the city through an ongoing budget deficit while they pause their search for a permanent replacement.

In another major leadership shift, the council also appointed internal assistant attorney Ashle Crocker as the new city attorney in a split 5-to-2 vote. Crocker will take over on June 3rd, replacing Teresa Stricker, who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities.

Together, Nutt and Crocker will now hold the only two positions that report directly to the city council as Santa Rosa enters a major transitional period.
