Jury selection has officially kicked off in Sonoma County Superior Court for the civil trial of former Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli.
Seven women are suing the former local official, claiming he drugged, restrained, and sexually assaulted them in incidents spanning nearly twenty years. Foppoli has consistently denied all of the allegations, and the California Attorney General’s Office previously passed on filing criminal charges due to a lack of evidence.
This civil proceeding is projected to last between four and six weeks, with the jury ultimately tasked with deciding whether to award monetary damages to the plaintiffs.
