The Novato Planning Commission has approved a new self-storage complex at 501 Davidson Street, despite opposition from nearby residents.
The Marin Independent Journal reports the decision was unanimous and does not require a City Council vote. Residents voiced concerns about the project’s size and potential for increased traffic and light pollution.
However, commissioners noted the site’s industrial zoning and felt the new use was “fairly benign” and would generate less traffic than previous businesses.
