In a historic move, Supervisor Rebecca Hermosillo was elected chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, becoming the first Latina to lead the body in the county’s 176-year history.
During her opening remarks, Hermosillo honored her family’s sacrifices and pledged fiscal responsibility as the county faces economic uncertainty and shifting federal priorities.
The board also appointed Supervisor Chris Coursey as vice chair and David Rabbitt as chair pro-tem, marking a new chapter of leadership for the region.
