Petaluma students and teachers are expected to take to the streets this afternoon in a show of solidarity against recent federal immigration actions.
According to the Petaluma Argus-Courier, organized by Indivisible Sonoma County and a broad coalition of local groups, the march is scheduled to begin at the final school bell around 3:30 p.m. Protesters will head to Lucchesi Park to voice support for families impacted by ICE, specifically citing the recent fatal shooting of a mother in Minnesota.
This demonstration follows a wave of North Bay protests this month that have drawn hundreds of participants. Organizers are calling for federal accountability while urging all attendees to remain peaceful and avoid confrontations. The event is expected to conclude at the park by 6:00 p.m.
