A routine traffic stop in Clearlake on Sunday morning has escalated into a double homicide investigation involving two Santa Rosa residents.
California Highway Patrol officers pulled a vehicle over near 18th Avenue and Highway 53, where they discovered 58-year-old Terry Harris unresponsive inside; he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, investigators located a second victim, 43-year-old Desiree Fuentes, deceased down an embankment along Highway 175. While the discovery took place in Lake County, authorities believe the incident likely originated in Sonoma County.
The case remains under active investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
