Technology High School was placed on a high-stakes lockdown Friday afternoon following a phone call threatening a shooting on campus.
According to the Press Democrat, Rohnert Park Public Safety officers swarmed the area, closing Bonnie Avenue and securing the building while nearly 400 students remained sheltered in their classrooms for hours. Although evacuations didn’t begin until 4 p.m., all students were safely reunited with their families by early evening.
While investigators found no evidence that the threat was credible, officials emphasized they treated the situation with maximum caution to ensure student safety. Some students reported a grueling experience inside, as the lockdown lasted well past normal dismissal time.
Police are continuing to investigate the origin of the threatening call.
