Authorities are investigating the death of a 37-year-old Oklahoma man found at the base of a Pacific Ocean cliff in Fort Bragg Saturday morning.
Deputies discovered the body around 8:30 a.m. near Bay View Avenue, in a steep area just south of the Noyo River Bridge. Officials report the man suffered injuries consistent with a significant fall, and early evidence suggests there were no signs of foul play.
The victim’s name is currently being withheld while investigators work to notify his next of kin. Police remain on the scene as they continue to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
The public is reminded to exercise extreme caution when near the region’s steep coastal bluffs.
