An early morning house fire on Meadowview Drive in Petaluma forced two residents to flee their home and briefly threatened nearby properties.
Petaluma Fire crews responded around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday to find heavy flames and smoke tearing through the front of the structure.
Due to the sheer intensity of the blaze and fears it would spread to neighboring houses, firefighters immediately called for backup resources. Officials report that everyone managed to escape safely before emergency crews arrived, and thankfully, no injuries were reported.
While firefighters successfully brought the flames under control, the home has been declared completely unsafe to occupy, and the cause of the fire remains under active investigation.
