Petaluma City Schools has announced the appointment of Davina Goldwasser as the district’s new superintendent.
Pending final school board approval, Goldwasser will officially take the reins on July 1st, replacing outgoing district leader Matthew Harris. She brings more than 25 years of public education experience to the role, currently serving as an assistant superintendent within the San Francisco Unified School District.
Harris announced his departure earlier this year, citing a desire to spend more time with his family following a period of steep budget challenges.
The Board of Education is expected to formalize Goldwasser’s contract at an upcoming meeting.
