DESCRIPTION:The Accelerated Reader Program through Renaissance Learning is the tool we use to practice & support reading in our Classrooms.\nStudents are able to choose to read a book or article that is of interest to them. A reading level & goal are set for each student based on where they are as readers. When a student completes a reading\, they take a short quiz to monitor comprehension. Based on their score\, students are given points toward their individual goal. At the end of each trimester\, incentives & celebrations are available for students who meet their goals. Progress is monitored through a diagnostic benchmark\, STAR Reading\,\ntaken 3 times a year.
