SUMMARY:SugarShuttle: Sugarloaf Hood Mtn\, Pythian Rd (CA State Parks Week)
DESCRIPTION:Want to do a thru-hike from Sugarloaf to Hood Mountain or vice versa? Ride the Sugar-Hood Shuttle! \n\nHow it works:\nEvery half hour our Shuttle will leave from either Sugarloaf Ridge State Park’s Visitor Center (making a brief stop at the Goodspeed parking lot) or Hood Mountain Regional Park’s Pythian Rd parking lot (with a brief stop at the equestrian lot). Make a reservation to ride to the other end of the trail & begin your hike\, or hike & ride back. We recommend riding first & hiking back to your car afterwards– no worries about how long you take to finish your adventure. The hike should take 3½ to 4½ hours; the distance is about 7.4 miles one way with approximately 2\,300ft of elevation gain. Bring at least 64oz of water & sun protection\, as the majority of the trail is exposed. \nRegistration is strongly encouraged\, as there is only space for 5 riders at a time\, but you can ride on a space-available basis as well. There is no charge for the ride\, but the suggested donation of $10 helps keep us going. Dogs & bikes are not allowed in the shuttle or on Goodspeed Trail (the State Park portion of the hiking route).\nParking fees apply.\nSugarloaf Ridge State Park\n2605 Adobe Canyon Rd.\, Kenwood\n(707) 833-5712

SUMMARY:Read On Sonoma County
DESCRIPTION:The Accelerated Reader Program through Renaissance Learning is the tool we use to practice & support reading in our Classrooms. Students are able to choose to read a book or article that is of interest to them. A reading level & goal are set for each student based on where they are as readers. When a student completes a reading\, they take a short quiz to monitor comprehension. Based on their score\, students are given points toward their individual goal. At the end of each trimester\, incentives & celebrations are available for students who meet their goals. Progress is monitored through a diagnostic benchmark\, STAR Reading\, taken 3 times a year.
