Fans of spending summers on Lake Pilsbury now have a limited amount of time to enjoy a few final family vacations. PG&E has announced a formalized plan to remove the Scott and Cape Horn dams along the Eel River that created the lake. The move will restore native habitat and help reverse declining fish stock. The diversion tunnel which sends water to the Russian River and Lake Mendocino will stay in place. Work to remove the Scott Dam could begin in 2028
