Supreme Court Tax

There is very important case before the US Supreme court, over a relatively small amount of money. The government says Charles and Kathleen Moore owe almost $15,000 in taxes from an investment in a company in India, but the result of the case could cost the federal government billions. The Moores, a retired couple, frame their case in simple terms: they never received a profit from their investment. Those profits were instead reinvested into the company, which sells farm equipment in India. Because they never “realized” that income, the Moores claim, they can’t be taxed on it.
