Sonoma County officials have declared a local state of emergency over the avian flu outbreak.
First proposed by Supervisor David Rabbitt, and then supported by the full board, the declaration will speed the acquisition of funding, support the impacted businesses and more than 200 workers that have been affected and allow for proper disposal of euthanized birds.
