Valley of the Moon Water District To Raise Rates By 4% in July

According to a report from The Press Democrat, starting July 1st, customers of the Valley of the Moon Water District will see a 4% increase in their monthly water rates. This is a welcome change from the 7% hike that was originally planned.

According to General Manager Matt Fullner, the district was able to reduce the increase due to a series of cost-saving measures and efficient planning. He pointed to projects that came in under budget, like a fire flow project in the Agua Caliente area where they used an innovative pressure solution instead of building a costly new water tank.

Fullner emphasized that the district is committed to keeping rates as low as possible while still maintaining reliable service and ensuring fire readiness for the community. The district will start a new rate-setting process next year to plan for the years ahead.
