Sonoma County’s Energy Independence Program (SCEIP), which helped finance home energy, water, and safety upgrades, is phasing out for residential properties.
While the program has been a huge success, distributing over $112 million since 2009, new federal regulations will make the residential portion “fiscally unsustainable.” There is a January 12th, 2026 to submit new applications, and existing contracts won’t be affected, while the commercial side of SCEIP will continue operating.
