The defense is now presenting its case in the federal trial of former Rohnert Park police officer Joseph Huffaker.
Huffaker is accused of stealing cash and cannabis from drivers during traffic stops. On Thursday, Huffaker’s attorney put the blame on his client’s former sergeant who has already pleaded guilty in a similar federal case. Several of Huffaker’s former colleagues at the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety testified as defense witnesses.
They said former sergeant Brendan “Jacy” Tatum was in charge of the team’s actions and its handling of evidence.
