Two people are dead after separate attempted water rescues along the Russian River.
Authorities say a teen boy drowned off Monte Rio Beach shortly before three o’clock Sunday afternoon. There was a second incident about an hour later in Forestville, just north of Steelhead Beach. Specific details are unclear, but witnesses report first responders performing CPR on an unresponsive person.
A witness says a young girl was also rescued from the river in Monte Rio before the boy drowned.
