Novato City Workers To Strike For Second Straight Day

Hundreds of Novato city workers are set to walk off the job once again today due to a contract dispute.

City street maintenance workers, building inspectors, park and recreation coordinators, and city planners are set to strike for a second straight day. They’re furious that the city hasn’t taken revenue from Measure M and sent it toward worker pay. Measure M was an increase in the sales tax that was approved last November in an effort to generate more money for the city.

Workers say they are already dealing with staffing shortages and they want to see better pay and an increase in jobs coming from Measure M revenue.
