Walmart is settling a lawsuit claiming it overcharged customers in Sonoma County and in other parts of California.
The retail giant recently announced the five-point-six-million-dollar settlement. The lawsuit claimed Walmart shoppers in California were charged higher prices than advertised for several items. Those include baked goods, produce and other prepared items that weighed less than what their labels described.
That violates California’s False Advertising and Unfair Competition laws.
