A group of local high school students are now one step closer to careers in healthcare.
The Petaluma Argus Courier reports this summer, a pilot program funded by a state grant trained the students to become certified nurse assistants, or CNAs. The program, a partnership between local schools and healthcare providers, gave the students valuable hands-on experience.
They are now eligible for their state certification, and Sutter Health provided each student with a one-thousand-dollar stipend.
