Novato’s largest municipal employee union staged its second strike in a month Tuesday as contract talks continue.
The one-day walkout involved 76 workers, including street maintenance staff, building inspectors, parks coordinators, city planners, and office assistants, seeking base pay increases in line with nearby cities and counties. T
he workers’ three-year contract expired in June. The union, represented by SEIU Local 1021, previously staged a three-day strike in early August.
Negotiations are set to resume today, and no impasse has been declared.
