Major Expansion Coming To Piner High School

Piner High School is set for a major expansion. In a little over a year, a new two-story, twelve-classroom building will be constructed on the staff parking lot. The Press Democrat reports this $2.6 million project is part of a district-wide consolidation plan.

The new building will house seventh and eighth graders from Hilliard Comstock Middle School after it closes in June. This makes Piner High School the district’s third junior-senior high school campus, following similar consolidations at Santa Rosa High and Montgomery High. The new building is expected to be finished by the end of next August, and the school will have the next year to prepare for the new students and staff.

The district’s goal is to give all students access to the high school’s resources, including its STEM programs, arts facilities, and gym. The new building will accommodate roughly 384 students.
