The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has officially appointed Gigi Mertle as the new Director of the Department of Child Support Services.
Mertle has been with DCSS for nearly 13 years, recently serving as Interim Director. The Board praised her as a “proven leader” dedicated to equity, innovation, and supporting families.
The DCSS is a crucial agency, managing thousands of cases and distributing over $30 million this year to support children across the county.
