Burbank Housing To Preserve Affordable Housing Units In Sonoma

The City of Sonoma has completed a nearly $6 million deal to preserve 18 affordable housing units for low-income and senior households.

According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the units, previously at risk of losing their affordability, were acquired by Burbank Housing. A city grant helped fund the purchase, which was finalized on September 30th.

Burbank Housing will manage and rehab the properties, guaranteeing the units remain affordable for a minimum of 55 years.

Sonoma officials emphasized the importance of “protecting their homes,” with rental rates capped for extremely low to low-income residents.
