The man found dead Friday near the Sonoma County Fairgrounds has been identified as 60-year-old Santa Rosa resident, Mark Calcagni.
The Press Democrat reports Calcagni was discovered along Brookwood Avenue with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The Santa Rosa Police Department has not yet recovered a weapon or identified suspects. Detectives are investigating a possible motive but assure the public there is no ongoing threat to safety.
This is the city’s eleventh homicide this year.
