Sonoma County has a new top lawyer. Following a nationwide search, the Board of Supervisors has appointed Joshua A. Myers as the next County Counsel.
Myers is a sixteen-year veteran of the office and currently serves as the Chief Deputy. He will step into the lead role following the retirement of Robert Pittman. As County Counsel, Myers will manage a three-hundred-thousand-dollar salary while overseeing legal affairs for twenty-nine county departments—covering everything from land use to public liability.
His appointment is expected to be finalized by the Board on January 13th, with a swearing-in ceremony set for late January.
