North Bay Flu Numbers Rising But Still Below Last Year’s Peak

Health officials are reporting a steady rise in influenza cases across Sonoma and Napa counties, largely fueled by recent holiday gatherings.

Wastewater monitoring shows that Influenza A has been the dominant strain since early December, leading to a noticeable increase in hospital visits and admissions.

While the numbers are climbing, they haven’t yet hit the record-breaking levels seen last year. Local health departments are encouraging residents to stay vigilant and check the online county dashboards for real-time updates on transmission levels in the community.
