Four people and their cat are looking for a new place to stay today after a kitchen fire broke out at a home on Baywood Drive in East Petaluma this past Tuesday.
The Petaluma Argus-Courier reports firefighters from across the county rushed to the scene and managed to knock down the flames in just ten minutes, but the damage was enough for officials to red-tag the house as unsafe.
While the Red Cross is helping the family out, investigators are still looking into what started the blaze and are reminding everyone to always have two ways out of your home in case of an emergency.
