Authorities have released the names of a couple killed in a tragic highway collision in Novato early Sunday morning.
The victims have been identified as 84-year-old Donald Mardon Rosenthal and 70-year-old Elsie Maxwell Rosenthal, both of whom passed away at the scene. According to investigators, the accident occurred around 12:20 a.m. at the interchange where the northbound Highway 101 ramp connects to eastbound Highway 37.
The California Highway Patrol is currently leading the investigation into the cause of the crash, and no further details regarding the circumstances have been released.
Local officials are working to determine if speed or environmental factors played a role in the late-night incident.
