CAL FIRE investigators are back on the scene today near Geyserville, working to determine what sparked a four-acre brush fire over the weekend.
The “Briggs Fire” broke out Sunday afternoon along Briggs Ranch Road, quickly spreading through thick, dry vegetation.
While the heavy fuel load helped the blaze grow, firefighters were able to keep the flames away from nearby structures, and no homes were reported under threat. Containment efforts continued through the night as crews monitored hotspots in the rugged terrain.
Officials are using this latest incident as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant, as dry conditions continue to make the local landscape susceptible to fast-moving fires.
