Public Tension Mounts Over Coastal Logging Proposal Near Jenner

A massive logging project proposed for the Sonoma Coast is sparking a heated debate as a critical state deadline looms.

The plan targets roughly 1,200 acres at the “Berry’s Knotfarm” property near Jenner, where the landowner aims to establish long-term, sustainable timber operations.

However, local residents and environmental advocates are sounding the alarm, warning that the project could lead to significant erosion and damage vital fish habitats and water quality. While the owner maintains the plan is ecologically sound, opponents are calling for stricter oversight of the sensitive coastal terrain.

State officials are currently reviewing the proposal and will continue to accept public comments through April 13th before a final decision is made.
