Dozens of community leaders gathered at the historic Maysonnave House this week to give a warm send-off to outgoing City Manager David Guhin.
The Sonoma Index-Tribune reports Mayor Ron Wellander and the City Council hosted the event to honor Guhin’s leadership since 2023, where he was credited with stabilizing city operations and managing a $45 million budget. Wellander praised Guhin’s “get things done” attitude, noting that the large turnout was a true testament to his impact on the community.
While he’s leaving his post in the city, he isn’t going far; Guhin is stepping into a major new role as the Sonoma County Executive Officer.
Local officials say his transition marks a significant win for the county after three successful years in Sonoma.
