Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport officials are trying to fill the gaps that will be left by Avelo Airlines’ departure.
Avelo is leaving the airport entirely on August 11th. Airport Manager Jon Stout confirms officials are reaching out to Alaska Airlines about picking up flights to Palm Springs and Boise, Idaho. They are also in contact with Delta Airlines about picking up Avelo’s route from Santa Rosa to Salt Lake City. United Airlines is also being considered for the return of the Denver flight, which stopped a few years ago.
Stout says he doesn’t expect to see the airport adding new routes before spring, at the earliest.
