Santa Rosa Police have arrested a man in connection with a scam that defrauded a 74-year-old resident of $43,000.
The victim was targeted by a pop-up ad that led to multiple impersonators posing as security agents and FTC officers. She was convinced to withdraw cash from her bank, which was then picked up at her home by a courier.
Based on an investigation and information shared with other law enforcement agencies, Santa Rosa detectives arrested 30-year-old Zhishen Zheng, who was identified as the courier.
He has been booked on charges including financial elder abuse and grand theft.
