A multi-year dispute over a new housing development in Windsor has finally been resolved.
After a four-year standoff, Redwood Equities, the developer behind the proposed Quail Acres subdivision, has reached an agreement with the Windsor Unified School District. According to the Press Democrat, the developer will pay the district $3.75 million to help them acquire land for a new school.
The agreement means the Quail Acres development, which will have 301 homes on 59 acres, will not include a school site. The school district’s superintendent, Jeremy Decker, said this resolution is a “win-win” because it gives the district the funds to purchase a new site while allowing the developer to build about 60 additional homes.
