A Dixon man is behind bars after a Santa Rosa traffic stop led to the discovery of an illegal weapon Thursday night.
Police stopped 19-year-old Airiden Wilkerson near Santa Rosa and Yolonda Avenues, where a K-9 named Rocco alerted officers to a loaded, unregistered handgun hidden in the center console. Wilkerson, who was already prohibited from possessing weapons, was booked on multiple felony charges.
The arrest was made by the department’s Special Enforcement Team as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal firearms in the city.
