So far we have unofficially picked up about an inch and a half of rain in the last 24 hours for most Sonoma County locations, with locations in west county seeing the most with about 2 inches.
With the exception of the Russian River in Hopland, all our main rivers should remain within their banks, even with more rain in the forecast, however, we do have a flood watch in effect.
You should expect some flooding on small creeks and streams as well as roadway flooding in some areas.
There are also numerous road closures around the county, we have a list under NEWS on the KZST Website.
Road closures are in effect in the following areas:
– Trenton-Healdsburg Road in Forestville;
– Mark West Station Road and Starr Road in Windsor;
– Valley Ford Freestone Road between Bodega Highway and Highway 1 in Valley Ford;
– Valley Ford Road between Gericke Road and Highway 1 in Petaluma;
– Valley Ford Road near Bloomfield between Moro and Merchant streets;
– Todd Road between Llano Road and Old Gravenstein Highway was closed due to the Colgan Creek swelling in that area;
– Green Valley Road near Sebastopol between Sullivan and Thomas roads in Sebastopol.
