Fans of Summerfiled Cinemas in Santa Rosa got the bad news last night, the city’s Zoning Administrator approved a permit allowing the building’s owner to close the theater and convert the space into a Planet Fitness Gym. Neighbors and movie buffs had hoped to save the quaint movie theater that caters to arthouse and independent films, but after design concerns were addressed by the proposed gym, the permits was signed off. There is no current timeline for when the theater will close.
