Sebastopol’s Voter-Approved Sales Tax Increase Cleared To Take Effect In 2026

Sebastopol’s voter-approved half-cent sales tax increase is now cleared to take effect in January.

It can be fully implemented after Governor Gavin Newsom signed new legislation. It allows cities in Sonoma County to exceed sales tax rates beyond ten-point-two-five percent. Sebastopol’s new sales tax rate will be ten-point-five percent.

That will be the highest in Sonoma County and the maximum rate allowed by the new law.
