The daughter of 38-year old Brandon Evans is suing the city of Petaluma and SMART claiming they were negligent in the death of her father when he crashed his motorcycle into a raised median in the middle of West Payran Street at the SMART tracks back in June of 2022. According to the Press Democrat, the lawsuit claims both entities “negligently owned, controlled and maintained the roadway, and as a direct result, the plaintiff’s father died in a motorcycle crash. Evans was found to be speeding, and under the influence of drugs and alcohol when the crash occurred.
