We have been telling you about the town of Sebastopol’s financial woes, needing to close a huge budge deficit. Now a consultant has told the city council they need to raise water and sewer rates to cover a $3.2 million dollar shortfall… and the numbers are astounding. To fully recover, water rates would need to go up by 125% and sewer rates as much as 175%. The council will now need to decide how much of that they want to adopt when an undetermined rate increase takes effect in March of 2024.
