Measure J

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors voted yesterday to remove the opening sentence to upcoming ballot measure J- which was submitted by the Coalition to End Factory Farming.
Supervisors said the phrase- “To promote animal welfare, water quality, and other goals.” was misleading and violates California election code which mandates neutral wording on the ballot. Measure J seeks to end large dairy and poultry farming in the county and is strongly opposed by the Board and the Sonoma County Farm Bureau.
