The federal extortion trial of former Rohnert Park police officer Joseph Huffaker is underway.
Testimony in the jury trial started this week. Huffaker is accused of pulling drivers over along Highway 101 and stealing their cash and marijuana. Prosecutors are expected to call up to 34 witnesses during the trial. One is Brendan “Jacy” Tatum, a former Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety sergeant.
He is accused of leading the scheme and has already pleaded guilty to being a part of it.
