Sonoma Valley Couple Could Have Animal Cruelty Charges Dismissed

Animal cruelty charges against a couple from Sonoma Valley could be dismissed.

On Wednesday, Gilman and Barbara Parsons were granted misdemeanor diversion. That’s after they agreed to give up two horses involved in a broader animal neglect investigation. Misdemeanor diversion allows for their charges to be dismissed if they follow court-ordered conditions during the next year.

The couple was initially facing seven counts of animal cruelty after authorities seized dozens of malnourished animals from their property in November of 2023.
