A new farmers market set to open in Glen Ellen this month has been postponed. According to the Press Democrat, the Glen Ellen Farmers Market was scheduled to debut on Sunday, August 17th, at the Woodland Star Charter School. However, organizers were notified that the Sonoma County Department of Health Services never received their application.
Market organizers say there were no issues with the paperwork itself, but the application must be approved 30 days before opening. The delay gives them more time to secure local farmers and growers, who are currently not on the vendor roster. Organizers say they hope the market, which will have low vendor fees, will become a new community hub. A new opening date will be announced in about a month.
